In my experience, which I admit is somewhat limited, I find that people who fail at stopping smoking are the people who assume that it is an easy thing to do. In my opinion, such a frame of mind causes them to be less vigilant and prepared for the bite back by the withdrawal symptoms of nicotine. If you are going to win at this, you have to be fully aware of what you are up against. It’s a tough battle, no doubt; but one that can be won. Smoking requires inhalation and exhalation of the fumes of burning tobacco. To quit, I had to simulate that action with a number of other substitutes. I would hold a pen to my lips and drag on it; I would suck on my finger, even a carrot. Folks thought I had lost it, but all I really wanted was not to touch another cigarette ever again. And guess what, I did it. You can too, that’s the good news. In short, anyone can, if they really made up their minds to. Smoking has been a part of European culture since the 1600s, but by now anybody who is not looking to stop the bad habit must have a death wish. So, to quit you can begin by seeing a medical doctor, and perhaps later a shrink. Let them talk you out of the condition. But of course – that should be the last option – if all else have failed to stop you from smoking. At one time, people believed that smoking relieved tension and produced no ill effects; but they couldnt have been more wrong. With the information available today about the habit, people are now scrambling to break it, but alas it is not so easy. However, with some of the tips mentioned herein it’s possible to stop the habit. Look online and you will find lots of success stories of people that have successfully stopped the smoking habit. Some of these will inspire you to stop too.
